It’s a Summer of Transition! Pastor Sarah Elliott begins her ministry and leadership over Bethany UMC on July 1st! You can read a bit about Pastor Sarah in this issue of the Tower Notes, but it will be great to take some time this summer to get to know Pastor Sarah, her husband, Patrick and their three children. We have an opportunity to welcome them to Clio and to Michigan as they are coming to us from the Baltimore-Washington Conference.
Let’s be sure to take some time this summer to continue to pray over this family in transition. The children will be working to make new friends and connections here as are Pastor Sarah & Patrick. We’ll have opportunities this summer for casual get togethers and get to know you’s. If you want to schedule some one on one time with Pastor Sarah – please reach out to her at the office and schedule some time.
Even in a transitional summer though there is a lot of ministry happening! Have you heard about our Community Food Trucks? In June at our distribution day on June 27th we joined hands with Second Helping and the Eastern Food Bank to serve food to 222 families (that’s 654 individuals!). What an awesome expression of God’s care and love for our community. You can join us in upcoming food distribution days!

- July 22nd (Volunteers arrive at 2pm)
- August 16th (Volunteers arrive at 7:30am)
AND – That’s not all! We are also looking forward to a fun time at Camp Firelight during Vacation Bible School. We’ll host families for a meal at 5:30pm on 7/23, 7/24 and 7/25. Following the meal, we’ll have the kids break out into groups where they’ll experience God in a variety of ways through storytelling, crafts, recreation, and more! We are in need of volunteers and are also looking to welcome lots of kids. Our program will wrap up at 8pm each evening. Parents & Families are welcome to stay for the duration or to leave after dinner and come back at pickup. Stay tuned for more details!
