On January 5th we celebrated the commissioning of our laity during worship. Inside of this month’s Tower Notes you’ll also see the nominations report containing all of the people who were nominated to church leadership positions at our church conference in Fall of 2024. Please remember to hold all of the leaders of the church in your prayers over this coming year.

Greetings Church,

I pray this finds you well. At Bethany we work hard to care for one another and our community. This week a member of our congregation has shared a dire need for assistance with their mortgage which is due on January 15th. Unfortunately other community resources have been sought but are not available. 

To help this family, we will be collecting a special love offering on Sunday. I am writing to ask that if you are able to contribute to toward this critical need that you make a check payable to the church with “Family Assistance” written on the envelope. You may also use online giving and select the “Family Assistance” option. Any assistance received will be paid directly to the families mortgage company.

In addition – A youth connected to the church needs tutoring in 5th grade Math. If you are able to help please contact the office for more information.

Throughout this Advent season, in our worship and our Bible studies, we are on a journey to Bethlehem and stopping along the way. As we travel this season together – make time to engage in Bible Study, Fellowship & Service through the work and life of the church.

Donations for Christmas in Clio – Due back to the church by December 11th

Angel Tree Gifts – Due back to the church by December 18th

Longest Night Service – December 21st @ 6pm – A worship space for the many emotions and realities of this holiday season including grief, loneliness, anxieties, etc. All are welcome to this contemplative service.

Christmas Eve Storytime – December 24th @ 4pm with the Christmas story, hot cocoa & activity for children. All families and children are welcome!

Christmas Eve Traditional Service – December 24th @ 8pm – A communion & candlelight service to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. All are welcome!

Reminder: We will be collecting Love Gifts for our staff and some volunteers filling staff roles between now and December 22nd. All gifts received will be divided evenly between the following people: Debbie Boyse, Amy Dickinson, Mavis Miller, Rachel Deshone, Ross Doolittle, Jakob Robinson, Dana Usealman and Dave Bower.
