Hello Church! We are in need of some volunteers to assist with our Music, Lights and Worship team. Here are the volunteer positions we are seeking to fill.
Prepare Slides for Sunday Announcements during worship – This volunteer can use our Canva account or any other graphic design tools they may have access to to prepare slides for use in our online and in house worship. This work has to be done earlier in the week and we can help devise a way for committees/people to submit their needs to you.
DVD Burning & Distribution – Elizabeth has fallen behind on getting DVDs out to the congregation members that would like them. We really need a person who has a DVD burner with their computer and would be able to help with this. It does require some special software (in most cases) to make a DVD capable of playing in a DVD player rather than a computer. We may also be in need of some funds to purchase that software for a willing volunteer, but if we get a volunteer, I’m positive we can find the funds. I am willing to train.
Help Phone In Worshippers for Sunday – We need a person with a great internet connection to share Sunday worship with our Zoom Phone In Worshippers. Elizabeth has been doing this every Sunday since March 29th. However, her rural internet connection is at times unstable and it prevents the phone in worshippers from having a smooth experience. All that is needed for this position is great internet and the ability to use Zoom. A willingness to read some of the parts that are video only is a bonus.
After we return to in-person worship we have a need for several people who are willing to help with Sunday Worship LiveStream
In Person Worship Sound & Video Booth – During in-person worship, run the sound board, in house slides and the livestream. For folks who previously worked in the sound booth, this adds an additional element, but Marc has it mostly made turnkey. There ARE some extra steps to take and we are hoping to begin training willing volunteers as we plan for a return to in person worship. If we have 5 volunteers, everyone just has to cover a single Sunday in a month.
Sunday Worship Prep – One we return to in person worship, we need 2 or more people willing to come in later in the week and prep the slides and screen for Sunday worship. This means loading in the slides prepared, loading the lyrics for hymns and any other readings, downloading videos that might be necessary. This takes about 1 – 2 hours most weeks.
Marc & Elizabeth have been performing all of these functions during the pandemic and stand in need of help. Marc is taking a step back from sound and lights and video to focus more of his time on the needs of youth and children’s ministry. We have a deep need for additional volunteers willing to step in and bear some of this load. If you can assist, please fill out this simple form. If you are willing but worry about your technical skills, go ahead and fill it out and we can try to work together on training. There are no age limits on any of this. We’d love to see some of our youth get involved in Sound/Lights/Video. We hope to continue to livestream even after we return to in-person worship full time as it will help our snow birds and travellers stay connected wherever they are and we find that we reach new people in our community with these efforts regularly.
