Scriptures: Matthew 5:21-37

Murder! Adultery! Divorce! Breaking an oath! These are often considered the Big Sins of the Commandments. Surely they are more harshly punished than the Little Sins of anger, name-calling, bullying, lust, or breaking a promise? Sure they are more serious, and if we avoid the Big Sins, we are fully obeying God’s Law, right? Of course, it is also easy to judge the sins of others as greater than our own. Read this tet and see what Jesus has to say. How would you define “sin”? How would you describe God’s grace?
