Bethany Scripture Museum

Please share your favorite verse from the Bible, your heart verse, and your name and if desired a bit about what this scripture means to you. During the season of Lent, we’ll share these (and your name) both online (see the gallery below) and in the halls of the church. It will be fun to see what our fellow members have as their heart verse and connect us with Scripture.

    Carol Bookout: This was my mom’s favorite verse, and I’ve “ adopted” it for my life.

    Ron & Nonie Lemmon: Isaiah 40:31 is the verse Nonie and I choose for Our Wedding on 8/6/1977 and have claimed it everyday since.

    Marc Middleton: There’s not a lot of young people in my position to be able to share God’s word. With the UMC being a older congregation, this verse has reminded me of the power that the Holy Spirit has given me to not let my age be a hinderance to what the Word of God can say.

    Debbie Wesenick: It’s the first verse I remember learning &, to me, it sums up how much God truly loves us that he would sacrifice his only son for us so we can live with him in Heaven forever.

    Hope Robinson – This was the focus verse my first year at summer games camp and it remains special to me. .
  • Charlotte Mowl – Luke Chapter 2 verses 7thru 11 from the King James Version. I learned this when I was in Sunday school many years ago and remembered most of it all these years because it describes the birth of Jesus .
