On January 3rd, we met with Elizabeth to learn about blogging and write about our past hobbies classes.
We call our group the blogging believers.
Classes we’ve had:
Music Analysis – Marc led a class on music analysis on December 6th. Claire was most excited about the challenge to sing a few lines of a song in Spanish to win a $10 gift card.
Glass Blowing –
“Richard Gray came in and made several different things with Pyrex glass including
a water pump, a Christmas ornament and an icicle” – Hope
Public Speaking – Marc led the kids through how to be a lay leader. Hope, Victoria and Tim all attended and learned about what’s involved in being a lay reader. They had another session where Marc worked with the youth on overcoming the fear of public speaking. Aiden said he learned to tell jokes to get over the fear. On January 31st at 5:30pm Marc will lead the next public speaking session.
Games – Claire says: “During Christmas games we played charades and Marc had a bunch of different lists of songs and we had to pick one and one time we had to say and act and the second round we got to just act and the last round we could only say one word. It was really fun!” Victoria & Claire thought that it was funny how Rockin’ Around the Christmas tree was acted out.
Missions Class – We wrote letters for the students who graduated last year and put them into their packs that we made. Hope & Claire wrote jokes into the cards. Many of the graduated seniors that got the packs were very excited to receive them and appreciated that the youth thought of them. We will be trying to make this an annual event to send care packages to college students affiliated with the church.
