He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
Thank you for considering coming to worship at Clio Bethany UMC for Easter Sunday. This day is a joyous celebration!
Here are some commonly asked questions.
What is the schedule for Easter? When should we be there?
Please consider letting the youth of Bethany UMC do the cooking for your family this morning! The youth serve breakfast in the Fellowship Hall starting at 9am. Stay for worship beginning at 10:30am in the sanctuary.
Who can participate in Communion? Do I have to be a member to participate in Communion?
The United Methodist Church has an open table. This means that anyone is free to take communion. Read more about how United Methodists observe holy communion. At Bethany UMC, we celebrate communion by intinction. That means that you take a piece of the bread, dip it in the cup and then take the bread and wine (juice is served here) at once. Ushers and those serving will gladly help and guide you. If you are handicapped or disabled, you may stay in your seat and the ushers will ask a communion steward to come to you. We will also offer gluten free option for those with sensitivities.
What do I need to wear?
Attire on Easter Sunday is just like any other Sunday. We are a fairly casual church generally. On Easter morning, many will wear a new dress or nice suit and lots of parents take this opportunity to dress up the little ones for spring pictures. However, you are encouraged to come as you are. Do not feel that you have to have a fancy dress or hat to come to church on Easter. Your webmaster, Elizabeth, will probably be in jeans and a blouse.
I’m handicapped. Can your church accommodate me?
YES! When you pull in, pull right in under the parking overhang. One of our doormen or doorwomen can help direct you to handicapped parking or even go and park your car for you. The sanctuary is handicap accessible and we can help you to your seat.
