I love the fall season, the cool nights and the crispiness of the air and the leaves. I love the fall festivals, and the preparation for Advent when we remember and celebrate the coming of Immanual – God who is with us.
As we enter this season Pat and I look forward to getting better acquainted with you all through participation together in the mission of the church and the ministries of Bethany UMC. I continue to seek God’s vision for our time in ministry together and I know that He is up to something that we would not believe, even if we were told (Habakkuk 1:5).
I encourage you to invite your friends to “come and see” what God is up to. I encourage you to participate in Bible study groups, on Sunday morning or at other times during the week. Consider coming to the Intercessory prayer meeting on Tuesday night at 7. Connect with our Wednesday afternoon ministry to students. Don’t be afraid to try something new!
As followers of Jesus we seek to grow in Christ-likeness throughout the days of our lives. God will use everything that we experience to shape us and refine us like silver. God walks with us through difficult times and God directs us through his Word to do the same for one another. Relationships are built as we study, pray, serve, give, and witness to one another in the context of everyday life. We connect to God through Christ and God’s Spirit connects us to one another as we abide in Him.
Seek out a Sunday school class or small group to connect with. On September 13th our Sunday School classes begin for adults, children and youth. Check out your options!
