Listen & Enjoy! *Note – this version of It Came Upon the Midnight Clear contains a verse that isn’t a part of the United Methodist Hymnal and that we didn’t sing in church (this verse is however part of the original poem). However, this verse has been really speaking to your webmaster and so I included this version. Here’s the lyrics for this verse that many may not have heard before.
Yet with the woes of sin and strife
The world has suffered long;
Beneath the angel-strain have rolled2
Two thousand years of wrong;
And man, at war with man, hears not3
The love-song which they bring;4
O hush the noise, ye men of strife,5
And hear the angels sing.
Unison Prayer: God of promise and hope, we present ourselves to you, knowing you are the source of all good gifts. Help us to live each day seeking to offer love and compassion for the least, the lost, and the lowliest in a way that is pleasing to you. We pray this in the name of the Christ who comes to bring us hope. Amen.

Heavenly Father, in the midst of a season so focused on shopping and finding the right gift, we remember that all our giving has its foundation in the amazing gift you gave to us: putting on flesh and coming in the form of a child, Emmanuel, God with us! May what we give today, and in the days to come, be bathed in the knowledge that yours is the most perfect gift andthe only thing we really need. We pray in the holy name of the Christ child, the Prince of Peace. Come Lord Jesus! Amen.

Missions

Mission Projects – 2019

Everyone can participate!

  • Ongoing – LOVE Pantry – Accepting cash donations and non-perishable food donations
    • Current Food Pantry Needs (January 2019) – Soup, Rice, Saltines, Fruit, Beef Stew, Jell-O, Pudding
  • Knitting with Jesus – Meets on Thursdays @ 1pm
  • Aluminum & Steel Tabs and Bottle Caps – Den & Karen Nichols collect these in support of Ronald McDonald House, University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The monies earned from this collection go to providing a place for families to stay at Ronald McDonald house while their children are being treated there.
  • Ongoing – Collect items for Operation Christmas Child.  Toys, hygiene products, crayons, hats, gloves, etc. must be able to fit in shoe box, no liquids, and no weapon or war like toys. Bring them to church office or youth ministry!
